Rotary broaching, which is becoming increasingly popular today, was invented by Paolo Bremi in the early 1960s (patent for industrial invention dates back to 1965).
From the outset, the application mainly concerned the execution of hexagonal and square slots, such as hexagonal socket or socket spanners. Later, technological development also made polygonal (regular and irregular) slots and Torx keys possible.
As technology progressed, the manufacture of toothed profiles, knurls, milling grooves and involutes was added: hence the ever-increasing demand for gear profiles for the manufacture of gears of various sizes.
